About Zaz
Matthew Indge aka Zaz has been clown & family entertainer over for 30 years! He started Clowning at a young age when he joined in the Bognor Clown Convention festival with many other local school children in the late 80’s & 90’s as he grew up in the small seaside town of Bognor Regis. Also Spending a large amount of his free time in Butlins Holiday park, enjoying & performing traditional family entertainment in the children’s theatre often helping circus performers, punch & clowns that visited the town. When Zaz was just 15 he was commended by his local & district councils for his work entertaining locally. 1993 Zaz was awarded Clowns Internationals Young Clown of the year & later CI Clown of the year in 2007.
Zaz has been entertaining children & families since he was a kid! & takes great pride in his work. Over the years he has entertained & helped to make many happy memories for many children and adults from all walks of life & continues to do so. Zaz spent 10 years or so in London bringing his own Clown style to the children’s & family entertainment circuit in capital city. He has had the pleasure of performing for many celebrity family’s, and at many of London’s diverse street & park festivals, interesting locations & attractions. Overseas, Zaz has taken part in many festivals in Europe & has performed internationally also supporting many charities events & schools with his work not forgetting helping families with countless children’s birthday parties. click here for feedback from parents & organizations
In 2009 Zaz moved back to the coast to Brighton he continues to cover Brighton, London & the south coast spreading clown fun wherever he goes! At no point during the weekend does Zaz stop smiling. He exudes energy, enthusiasm, joy. The Guardian news paper 17/3/2011. Zaz then helped on the organizing team of 2 more clowns international festival weekends in 2012/13 within Butlin’s & Hotham Park Bognor Regis.
The beginning of Circus PaZaz Little Circus Big Fun! In summer 2012 clown friend Susi Oddball & circus enthusiast Steve Jacks encouraged Zaz to visit Fred Delius from Fred’s Flying Circus as Fred after many many years in circus was thinking about building up his tent for the last time, to concentrate on other artistic & musical projects. Fred knew Zaz from when he led the clowns conventions school tours in the 90’s
So summer 2012 Zaz toured on Fred’s Flying circus then in 2013 Zaz began Circus PaZaz! touring the 50ft 1pole circus tent each summer at family festivals & schools as a fundraising & entertaining event for the children & whole community. The Serious Bit. Zaz is a member of Equity & Clowns International is DBS Checked & carries £10M Full Public Liability. Groups of Children must always be accompanied by at least two parents/guardian. Zaz provides family/children’s entertainment and not child care.
